Nostrification is the recognition procedure of educational documents of other countries in Ukraine.

According to the law of Ukraine, all foreign citizens are obliged to recognize in Ukraine his/her previous educational documents.

Every student submits his/her educational documents for recognition on their own, during the training at the Preparatory Department or during the first semester of the first year (bachelor’s or master’s degrees).

The recognition procedure of foreign educational documents is carried out by the state-owned company “Information and Image Center” in Kyiv, 25 V.Chornovola str..

If the recognition result is positive, applicants (students) must receive a Certificate confirming the right to pursue higher education and provide it to the Center for International Education of IFNTUOG.

In case of refusal to recognize foreign educational document, the student has not the right to study at the higher educational institution of Ukraine and is expelled from the university.

Department Regulations of Academic Services for International Students

Department of Academic Services for International Students (DASIS) does the following:

- organizes an educational process of international students according to the “bachelor's” and “master's” licensed in IFNTUOG qualification levels;

- introduces international students with curricula and degree programs, academic schedule, timetable, monitoring measures, examination periods,

  academic failure dissolving, final state examination;

- keeps record of international students, controls procedures of renewal, transfer and expelling;

- provides international students with additionally paid educational services (if required);

- prepares educational certificates and other documents;

- monitors attendance and academic achievements;

- prepares diplomas and diploma supplements for international students.

The program of Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizen (PDFC) provides two learning stages:

1st stage (І semester) – language training (supervised by a teacher) at a simple level, learning grammatical forms and syntactic relations in language.

2nd stage (ІІ semester) – further language training, country studies and study of general disciplines (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and other subjects), which are basic in higher education institutions of engineering and technical field of studies.

Training groups of foreign citizens at the Preparatory Department consist of 8-10 persons, that ensures effective organization of educational process. Teaching methods help foreign citizens to learn Ukrainian language, get acquainted with the history, culture and traditions of Ukraine and to master scientific terminology, as required within chosen educational program (see:Fields of Study).

Foreign citizens, who successfully passed graduation exams are granted a Certificate of Completion of the Preparatory Department in a state-approved format, which gives the right to enter IFNTUOG, as well as any higher education institutions in Ukraine.

Admission to the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens is carried out on the basis of:

      1. Full secondary education;

      2. Invitation for Study.

5 steps of Admission to the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens (PDFC):

On arrival in Ukraine, a foreign citizen (within 5 days) should PERSONALLY apply to the university office (0102) the following documents:

1. Invitation for Study;
2. Original and notarized translation into Ukrainian of a document about full secondary education;
3. Original and notarized translation into Ukrainian of a supplement about full secondary education with grades (scores);
4. Notarized translation into Ukrainian of valid passport or stateless identity document;
5. Health certificate (valid within two months from the moment of issue) verified according to the laws of your country and translated into Ukrainian;
6. Insurance policy, unless otherwise is not provided by international treaties of Ukraine.
7. Original of acceptance letter for study in IFNTUOG (in case if a foreign citizen has an Invitation for Study from other university);
8. 10 photos (3,5X4,5 мм) (matte).

Foreign citizen fills in an application form (see Application Form1 or Application Form 2) about enrollement to the Preparatory  Department for Foreign Citizens and signs it in the Department  of  Registration and Migration Services (DRMS) (office 0421a) and in the Center for International Education (CIE) (office 0411). 

               Foreign citizen should write down in an application form his/her valid telephone number in Ukraine. 

Foreign citizen makes tuition payment for training at the Preparatory Department according to the following bank account details: 

Order for admission is issued within 3-5 working days (admission is made after full payment received on the university account only). After admission, foreign citizen concludes an agreement on the provision of educational services, which is a normative document that defines the obligations and rights of the university and the foreigner for the entire period of study at the Preparatory Department. Education agreement is concluded on the day of the order for admission issue (register date of the order for admission and the date of agreement should coincide). In case of late conclusion of an agreement at the expense of individuals and entities, foreign citizen can be expelled from the university.

Temporary residence permit for foreign citizen is issued on the basis of order for admission within 25 (twenty-five) working days.

After admission to the Preparatory Department, foreign citizen will be informed about schedule (group number, day and time of classes, room number).
