The internship of Polish students in the Precarpathian region

On July 09 - 19, 2018 students of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Drilling from University of Science and Technology (Polish Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica) (AGH) undertook an introductory intenship under the auspices of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering of the IFNTUOG within the framework of the signed Cooperation Agreement between AGN and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.

On the first day of the internship a group of Polish students together with their teachers – the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Drilling, Dr. Aneta Sapińska-Śliwa and Dr. Dagmara Zeljas had a meeting with the Director of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering O. Vytiaz. Mr. Vytiaz familiarized Polish students with the history of the university, the program of internship and conducted safety training during the stay on production facilities.

According to the internship program, the students were given a tour around the University's geological museum, the teaching and research laboratories of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering, and the Galicia Oilfield Museum. They also had an opportunity to visit PJSC "NadvirnaNaftogaz" of the Ukrnafta, the "Lvivgazvydobuvannia" of OJSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannia and other facilities important for oil and gas sector of the region. The students also had an interesting trip to Dolyna at the gas refinery of PJSC "Ukrnafta" and PJSC "Ukrspetstransgas". Specialists of PJSC "Ukrnafta" willingly shared their experience with future engineers.

On the last day of the internship, a Polish delegation had a meeting with the University authorities where the Polish students expressed their gratitude for the fruitful cooperation and informative internship. Vice-rector on academic affairs Prof. O. Mandryk urged students not to stop and thoroughly develop their knowledge and experience, and thanked the supervisors of Polish students. Each student received an internship certificate at the relevant basic oil and gas enterprises of Ukraine.
