As part of his stay in Ivano-Frankivsk at the celebration of the City Day, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Ukraine, Marek Safin, initiated a visit to the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. The guest was interested in the possibility of establishing cooperation between the technical universities of Slovakia and IFNTUOG.
The first vice-rector O. Mandryk gave a tour around the university and showed a powerful educational and scientific base of our university, modern laboratories, equipment and classes. He told about a successful cooperation with the Technical University of Kosice, the agreement with which was signed in 2015. According to the agreement the students had an opportunity to undergo internships and participate in exchange programs. In addition, within the framework of the HUSKROUA / 1101/194 project "Cross-border Innovation Network for Technology Transfer", funded by the European Union, the Summer School of IFNTUOG presented the experience of successful university start-ups, among which the reports on management of projects of innovative enterprises from the Technical University of Kosice were of particular interest. A joint environmental project ("Managing Territories Contaminated with Oil Products", within the Erasmus + program) was also prepared.
Marek Safin focused on monitoring issues of importance for the Slovak part: dual diploma programs, training of specialists in selected technical specialties: applied mechanics, geology, construction and urban planning, electricity, etc. The first vice-rector claims that this interest is not accidental, since IFNTUOG has long been an integral part the international oil and gas education, the quality of which for many graduates has become the key to a successful career.
The University hopes for fruitful cooperation with the technical universities of Slovakia in educational, scientific and grant projects.
