Additional Information:

Faculty of oil and gas pipelines was founded in September 1976.  It was initiated by the Head of the Department of construction of pipelines and storages Yu. Hahen - the Rector of the Institute at the time.

During its existence the faculty has been headed by:

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor M. Hloba (1976— 1981);

Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor H. Lysianyi (1981 — 1986),

Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor T. Martyniuk (1986-2008 years),

Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor PV. Lisafin (2008-2014),

 The first admission of students of the faculty of oil and gas pipelines was held in the Lviv Polytechnic Institute in 1960 and 1961. The First graduation of specialists in the Ivano-Frankivsk branch of Lviv Polytechnic Institute was held in 1964-1965.

The Department of oil and gas pipelines, storage facilities and tank farms, which carried out training of mechanical engineers, was established at Faculty of oil and gas pipelines (the branch of Lviv Polytechnic Institute) on September 1, 1964. In 1972 it was divided into two: Department of transportation and storage of oil and gas,  and Department of construction of pipelines and storage facilities.

 First, the faculty has trained mechanical engineers specializing in "Design and maintenance of oil and gas pipelines, storage facilities and tank farms" and "Construction of gas and oil pipelines, storage facilities and tank farms". In 1988, they were united in one — "Department of oil and gas pipelines and storage facilities".

  Later the teachers of the Department of transportation and storage of oil and gas" created the Department of "Hydraulics" (today – "Oil and gas fluid dynamics"). In 2005 there were established: the Department of Welding of pipelines and structures (which trains bachelors in specialty "Welding", specialists and masters in specialty "Technology and equipment of welding") and the Department of Technical Diagnostics and Monitoring".

 In December 2012, the Department of Wear Resistance and Restoration of Details of Cars, which trains bachelors in specialty "Welding", as well as specialists and masters in specialty  "Restoration and improvement of wear resistance of parts and constructions" was included in the Faculty of oil and gas pipelines.
